The Spitzer Impeachment Conundrum

We are now a good 4 or 5 days into the Spitzer Affair.

He has resigned...and many bloggers and news organizations have joined in the bandwagon of beating the him like the dead horse ...or dead donkey... that he is.

Here is the Conundrum.

No one died. No state secrets were divulged to the media in an effort to quell his opposition. Hundreds of thousands of people have not been slayed because of any lies that Gov. Spitzer told...or any facts that he fabricated.  Entire nations are not on the brink of annhihilation because of any fabrications he made up...and his acts have not caused the cost of Gasoline to skyrocket, the dollar to fall, or the financial state of the world to crumble.

Spitzer also did not threaten the sanctity of our democracy by by attempting to make law enforcement an extension of the legislative branch, or to serve a particular political party. The latter of which are by definition, fascism.

Spitzer has not lied to congress, held secret meetings or added "signing statements" effectively stating that he would not follow the rule of law as laid down by the greatest Governing Document ever produced in the history of man either.

The same can not be said of the current Commander in Chief, Our Vice President...or any number of people that sit (or sat) by his side or at the Presidents' behest.

And yet...Spitzer, for what most would consider to be a mundane, stupid, domesticated trivial crime on the grand scheme of things was called out on the carpet and it was DEMANDED that he resign...while those same outraged citizens who are so offended at Spitzers indulgences sit idly by without a care in the world for the TREMENDOUS damage that George Bush, Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney have done not only to our Country internally...but to the world.

Where is the friggin' outrage for THOSE acts?

Show me someone turning red in the face for Spitzer...but relaxed and not bothered by Bush and Company...and I will show you a bona-fide hypocrite...through and through, all the way.
